----------------------

What is a Rudraksha?

Rudraksha (also known as Rudraksh) is the dried seed of a tree that grows in certain locations in Southeast Asia and is known as Elaeocarpus Ganitrus. It is also called "Tears of Shiva" and there are many legends associated with Lord Shiva that explain its origin. The word Rudraksha comes from 'Rudra' (the name of Shiva) and 'Aksha' which means tears.

----------------------

One of the ways to identify a true Rudraksha is how well the mukhis are defined. Mukhis are the linings that look like a crack in between each 'pie'.

Purac's authentic 5-Mukhis Rudraksha beads are sourced directly from Bhutan. They are lustrous, have well-defined mukhis and with an average bead size of 20mm each.

FAQ

Kindly refer to 'The Necklace Length' guideline that's shown as a size reference chart in the gallery.

We highy recommend for beginners to rinse a Dzi under running water for 30 seconds, then place it under the sunlight for 3 hours. Wear it or place it near you for 2 weeks without a break.

Experienced collectors or spiritual practiotioners will meditate with the Dzi and/or work with Cintamani Cakravartin Dharani recitation.
